Vine Copyright FAQs

Q: Are Vine posts copyrightable?

A: Yes! As long as the post is original and creative, it is subject to the same protections as any audiovisual work. For more information regarding your rights on Vine see the Vine Terms of Service.

Q: Someone copied my post on Vine. What do I do?

A: You can submit a DMCA takedown request via our DMCA form seeking the removal of infringing use of copyrighted content.  See our Copyright and DMCA Policy for more information.

Q: Someone copied my Vine post on another site. What do I do?

A: Twitter is unable to control the contents of third-party websites. You will need to contact the owners of the site in question to request removal.

Q: I want to use someone else’s Vine post. Can you give me permission?

A: It’s okay to revine or Tweet any non-protected Vine post. If you want to incorporate someone else’s Vine post in a new post on Vine or elsewhere, you may need to get permission from the poster first.

Q: I want to use someone else’s copyrighted work in my Vine post.

A: Unless the use you’re considering could be protected by fair use or similar concepts, you may need to get permission from the copyright owner first.

Q: My Vine post was removed! Why?

A: Check the Vine Rules. If your post was removed, you probably violated one of these. If you received a copyright notice, it’s because we received a valid DMCA takedown notice regarding your post. If you’re certain this was in error – and that you have the right to post the content in question – you may submit a DMCA counter-notice. See our Copyright and DMCA Policy for more information.

$0.45 USD - $4.00 USD

Note: The accepted formula that Auxiliary Mode Inc. uses to calculate the CPM range is $0.45 USD - $25.00 USD.

The range fluctuates this much because many factors come into play when calculating a CPM. Quality of traffic, source country, niche type of video, price of specific ads, adblock, the actual click rate, watch time and etc.

Cost per thousand (CPM) is a marketing term used to denote the price of 1,000 advertisement impressions on one webpage. If a website publisher charges $2.00CPM, that means an advertiser must pay $2.00 for every 1,000 impressions of its ad. The "M" in CPM represents the Roman numeral for 1,000.
