Do you have a new phone number? Or do you want to remove your number so you can attach it to a different account? Either way, we’re glad you’re here. An accurate and up-to-date phone number is an important step you can take toward improved account security.
Updating your phone number via Twitter for iPhone:
- On your profile, tap the gear icon and select Settings.
- Tap the account you’d like to remove a phone number from.
- Scroll down to Phone Number and tap it to receive an option to remove this number.
- When you see the prompt asking Do you want to remove the number?, select OK and enter your password to confirm.
Updating your phone number via Twitter for Android:
- Tap the overflow icon and select Settings.
- Tap the account you’d like to remove a phone number from.
- Scroll down to Phone Number and tap it to receive an option to remove this number.
- When you see the prompt asking Do you want to remove the number?, select OK and enter your password to confirm.
Updating your phone number via the web:
- Log in to your Twitter account.
- Click the your profile icon at the top right corner of the navigation bar and select Settings from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the Mobile tab.
- If your mobile phone number has already been added to your account you will see a Delete my phone link.
- Click the Delete my phone link and the mobile number will be removed from your Twitter account.
- After you have removed your mobile number, the screen will give you the option to connect a new mobile number to your account.
To remove your mobile number via SMS:
- Using the phone you want to remove from your Twitter account, send a text message containing only the wordSTOP to your country’s Twitter short code).
- Your mobile number will be removed from your Twitter account immediately.
