But consumers can be used as powerful resource to help sell your services and products for you if you develop a dialogue and relationship with them.
To start, you need to begin with customer research. Find out what attracts people to your content, products, and/or services. Figure out what is working and what is falling short of their expectations. Plan discussion groups, get insights from staff members, develop a survey, and ask current and potential customers for their feedback.
Social media gives you the opportunity to easily start a dialogue and build a relationship with your customers and target audience. When it comes to your social media presence, you need to first have a business goal and build a strategy to obtain it. You need to begin your campaign with a purpose and one that is unique to your brand. Ask yourself what motivates your target market to find you, make a purchase or hire you for your services. Remember that you want new customers but you also want to keep your loyal customers engaged and working for you. Word of mouth is very powerful and your loyal customers can help you build what you have started.
