Editing and Deleting

You can delete comments you’ve made, including photo or video captions, as well as comments people have left on your posts. You can also edit captions you’ve included in previous posts.

To delete a comment or caption:

iOS

1. Tap below the photo.
2. Swipe to the left over the comment or caption you’d like to delete.
3. Tap and then choose if you want to Delete or Delete & Report Abuse.

Android

1. Tap below the photo.
2. Tap the comment or caption you want to delete. You can tap multiple comments if you want to delete more than one comment at the same time.
3. Tap at the top of the screen.

This feature isn’t available right now on Windows Phone.

To delete a photo or video that you’ve shared, tap (iPhone and Windows Phone) or(Android) below your post and then tap Delete.

It isn’t possible right now to delete multiple photos at the same time.

You can use Layout from Instagram to combine multiple photos into one. Download Layout for iPhone orAndroid.

You can add a caption to a photo or video you’ve already shared or edit the caption you originally included. To add or edit your caption:

1. Tap (iPhone) or (Android) below your photo or video
2. Tap Edit
3. Edit or add your caption, then tap Done

The word Edited will appear above captions that have been edited when you tap on a post

Note: You can’t edit comments on photos or videos. Learn how to delete a comment.

You can add a location to a photo or video you’ve already shared or edit the location you originally included. To add or edit your location, first tap below your photo or video. Then tap Edit.

• To add a location: Tap Add Location… and enter the location.
• To edit a location: Tap the location name > Change Location. Then choose a new location or remove the location tag from your post.

You can remove any of the effects you’ve applied as long as your photo is in preview mode and you haven’t posted it yet. A gray line appears under each of the effects you have applied to the photo.

To undo or remove an effect:

1. Tap the tool you used
2. Adjust the slider back to 0
3. Tap the checkmark to save your change
