Twitter for Windows Phone

Where to get the Twitter for Windows Phone app:

This application is not currently pre-installed on phones – you’ll need to download it from the Windows Marketplace in order to use it. Here’s how:

1. Search for Twitter in the Windows Marketplace
2. Download and install the app on your device.

How to sign up or sign in with the application:

To create a new account:

1. Launch the Twitter app from your phone and tap on the Sign up btn to create a Twitter account.
2. Choose and enter your username and password.

To sign in to an existing Twitter account:

1. Launch the app and tap on Sign in.
2. Enter your username and password.

To add another account:  

• Tap more 
• Tap Settings, where you’ll have the option to add another account.
• Add as many accounts as you’d like!

How to post and delete Tweets and send Direct Messages:

To post a Tweet:

1. Tap on the feather quill icon  at the bottom of the app to compose a Tweet.
2. Type your message, up to 140 characters, in the Tweet box.
3. Tap Tweet  to post your Tweet.

To attach a photo to a Tweet:

1. Tap on the feather quill icon  at the bottom of the app to compose a Tweet.
2. Tap on the camera icon  to take a photo, or the gallery icon  to add a photo from your camera roll. You can add up to four images to your Tweets!
3. Type your message, up to 140 characters, in the Tweet box.
4. Tap Tweet  to post your Tweet.

To tag people in photos:

1. Tap on the feather quill icon  at the bottom of the app to compose a Tweet.
2. Tap on the camera icon  to take a photo, or the gallery icon  to add a photo from your camera roll.
3. Tap Who’s in this photo?
4. Enter the usernames of up to 10 people you want to tag in the photo.
5. Tap the checkmark icon  to confirm.
6. Type your message, up to 140 characters, in the Tweet box.
7. Tap Tweet  to post your Tweet.

To delete a Tweet:

1. Tap on the Tweet that you want to delete.
2. Tap on the trash icon  and then tap yes to confirm. The Tweet will be deleted.

To send a Direct Message:

1. Tap the person icon  to go to your profile page.
2. Tap the envelope icon  to go to Direct Messages.
3. Tap the plus icon  to create a new message.
4. Type in the username of the person you’d like to send the Direct Message to. Note: The user must follow you in order for you to send them a message.
5. Compose your Direct Message.
6. Tap the Tweet icon  to send the message.

To add photos to a Direct Message:

1. Tap the person icon  to go to your profile page.
2. Tap the envelope icon  to go to Direct Messages.
3. Tap the plus icon  to create a new message.
4. Type in the username of the person you’d like to send the Direct Message to. Note: The user must follow you in order for you to send them a message.
5. Tap on the the gallery icon  to add a photo from your camera roll
6. Compose your Direct Message.
7. Tap the Tweet icon  to send the message.

How to change your profile information:

1. Tap the person icon  to go to your profile page
2. Tap more , then tap edit profile.
3. Make your changes and tap the save icon  to save them.

How to sign out:

1. Tap the  icon and select settings from the menu that pops up.
2. Press and hold the account you’d like to sign out from, and select remove when it appears.
3. Tap yes to confirm you would like to sign out. Signing out will remove your Twitter data from the device.
