Monetization is disabled for my channel

To check the status of monetization on your channel, you can refer to the Status and features section while signed into your YouTube account. There are several reasons why monetization might be disabled for your YouTube account, such as multiple videos with  Community Guidelines strikes, copyright strikes, and/or worldwide Content ID blocks, attempted monetization of ineligible videos, or violations of AdSense Program Policies. These reasons may all result in suspension of payments.

Multiple strikes and/or worldwide blocks

If you receive multiple Community Guidelines strikes, copyright strikes, and/or worldwide Content ID blocks, you may lose the ability to monetize your videos on all related accounts. You can check your strikes in the Status and featuressection of your account. To check worldwide Content ID blocks, go to Copyright Notices section of your Video Manager. In order to regain monetization after six months, all of your accounts must be in good standing. Note that account monetization may still be disabled if you delete the blocked videos.

Please refer to our Policy and Safety Hub and Copyright Center to learn how to keep your account in good standing and manage your content on YouTube.

Monetization rejected

YouTube may also disable monetization if your videos have been reviewed and have not been approved for monetization (). Repeated submission of ineligible videos and/or inadequate proof that you own the necessary commercial use rights to all visual and audio elements in your video(s) within the allotted time period may affect your account’s monetization status.

Invalid Click Activity

Partners found in violation of Google’s AdSense program policies, such as invalid click activity, will have monetization temporarily suspended for 30 days.

Severe violations may result in monetization being permanently disabled immediately without a 30 day suspension. Should you decide to appeal your disabled account, please provide as much information as possible to help understand your traffic. Note if your channel is managed by a multi-channel network, please contact them to see if you are eligible for an appeal. Please also note that if your appeal is approved, monetization may be restored on your YouTube account(s) within a few days, and you can enable monetization options on videos in bulk through the Video Manager.

Ads aren’t showing on my video

If you have submitted a video for monetization and do not yet see ads on it, please read through the following information.

  • You will not be able to monetize any videos if you have been disabled for monetization.

  • Ads may not show on your video if you have enabled ad-blocking software or add-ons and extensions on your browser.

Submit additional documentation to claim rights

YouTube may ask you how you own commercial use rights to all elements in your video at any time after you submit a video for monetization. This includes (but is not limited to) music, photographs, movie, and/or video game footage.

How we may request additional information

We may alert you via Video Manager and also send an email notification to the email address associated with your YouTube account. If more information is needed regarding your video, you may notice this icon in your Video Manager, next to the video in question. If you see this icon with caption text of how many days you have left to provide us with the requested information, please note that your video may be disabled for monetization if you don’t provide information within the time allotted.

Here’s how to submit that information

To submit that information, simply click the icon . You can provide information about your video using the suggested text and linked resources.

We are not able to provide you with legal advice regarding commercial use rights, but you can find general guidance here.

What happens next?

Your video(s) may be reviewed again once you’ve submitted additional information. In some cases, we may send a follow-up email to request further information.

Providing this information does not guarantee that your video will be approved. A variety of factors, such as video performance, may affect review time. We may not be able to process every submission, but we continually monitor these factors and prioritize accordingly. YouTube reserves the right to make the final decision whether to monetize a video, and may disable monetization for users who repeatedly submit ineligible videos.

$0.45 USD - $4.00 USD

Note: The accepted formula that Auxiliary Mode Inc. uses to calculate the CPM range is $0.45 USD - $25.00 USD.

The range fluctuates this much because many factors come into play when calculating a CPM. Quality of traffic, source country, niche type of video, price of specific ads, adblock, the actual click rate, watch time and etc.

Cost per thousand (CPM) is a marketing term used to denote the price of 1,000 advertisement impressions on one webpage. If a website publisher charges $2.00CPM, that means an advertiser must pay $2.00 for every 1,000 impressions of its ad. The "M" in CPM represents the Roman numeral for 1,000.
