Feature Access Levels
Standard Features (No Verification Required)
Available immediately when you create a channel, provided you have no active Community Guidelines strikes.
Includes:

- Create playlists
- Use the Posts tab
Limitations:
- Daily usage limits are lower
Intermediate Features (Phone Verification Required)
To unlock more growth tools, you must verify your phone number.
Includes:
- Upload videos longer than 15 minutes
- Live stream from a computer
- Upload custom thumbnails
Benefits:
- Higher daily usage limits
- Expanded content creation tools
Advanced Features (Channel History or Identity Verification Required)
Creators with positive channel history may qualify automatically.
Alternatively, you can unlock advanced access immediately by verifying your identity through:
- Government-issued ID
- Video verification
Includes:
- Content ID appeals
- Embed live streams
- Apply for monetization (plus eligibility requirements)
- Add clickable links in video descriptions and posts
- Link related videos to Shorts
- Pin comments
- RSS uploads
- Add clickable channel links
- Chapters
- Add extra channels

Daily Feature Limits
Certain features have usage caps each day.
If You Reach Your Limit:
- Intermediate users may upgrade to advanced verification
- Advanced users must wait 24 hours before reusing limited features
Maintaining Feature Access
To retain intermediate or advanced features:
- Follow Community Guidelines
- Maintain a positive channel history
- Avoid policy violations or strikes
Violations may reduce or remove feature access.
How to Check Your Current Feature Eligibility
On Desktop:
- Sign in to YouTube Studio
- Go to Settings
- Select Channel
- Click Feature eligibility
You’ll see which features are currently enabled.
